Alameda

Park Street takes first place as Alameda’s thriving shopping district.

Welcome to Alameda

Alameda, renowned for its good schools, is especially attractive for families with school-aged children. Located just west of Oakland, the “Island” is divided into several distinct neighborhoods - each with their own charms.

EAST END

Close to terrific shopping, with lots of estuary frontage – and some of the best schools in Alameda, the East End is home to some of the Island’s historical Victorians and Craftsmen gems.

PARK STREET DISTRICT

Park Street takes first place as Alameda’s thriving shopping district. With its upscale shops, excellent restaurants and trendy bars, Park Street’s renaissance is due largely to its greatly improved shopping and dining experience. Park Street is just plain fun.

THE GOLD COAST

Home to the grandest Victorian mansions in Alameda, the Gold Coast earned its name from the wealthy San Franciscans who “summered” here at the turn of the 20th century. Among the more noteworthy were the lovely “Painted Ladies” designed by renowned Bay Area architect Julia Morgan and other “First Bay Tradition” architects.

Terrific schools, and plentiful green spaces make the Gold Coast even more lovely.

BAY FARM ISLAND

If you like distinctive homes, in a well planned community, Bay Farm Island beckons.

With its exceptional walkability scores and miles of flat, easy terrain, nearby shopping and an 18-hole golf course nearby - Bay Farm Island is the perfect place to call home. Now, with regular ferry service to San Francisco and Oakland, commuting from the Island is a breeze - literally!
